Booking
Booking steps:
- Read my About page to understand which methods I use. Most issues will not be “solved” with just a consultation, so please understand this when booking.
- Book using the calendar below. Your consultation will typically be in your home. I service the city of Saskatoon and anywhere within an hour north.
- After booking, I will email you a behaviour questionnaire/training agreement.
After our session, payment can be made via e-transfer. I will email you a training plan that includes my observations and recommendations, as well as several step-by-step handouts for the skills we practice.
**PLEASE NOTE**: As of 2024 I am no longer taking separation anxiety cases. Here is a virtual trainer that is certified in separation anxiety training.
FAQs
I use positive reinforcement training methods. I focus on changing unwanted behaviours through desensitization and counter-conditioning.
Our initial consultation will be at your home. We will discuss the concerns you have in depth, then I will offer some training solutions. I usually teach a couple of behaviours throughout the session, and allow you to practice while I am there. Afterwards, you will get a detailed email recapping our session, and I provide step-by-step handouts.
Feed your dog less than usual–a hungry dog is ideal for training! Also have your dog’s favourite treats ready; pea sized treats are best. Dogs also learn best when their needs have been met—please make sure they have been outside to eliminate and physically/mentally stimulated before I arrive (walk, puzzle toy).
Dogs who are aggressive towards strangers need to be leashed and muzzled before I arrive.
