FAQs
I only see pet dogs, not working dogs (service dogs, protection, etc). I also do not see separation anxiety cases. If I do not think I am best suited to train your dog, I can refer you to someone else. I often refer dogs with severe behaviour concerns to a Veterinary Behaviourist after our initial consultation.
I will come to your home, meet your dog, and discuss the behaviour form that you filled out prior (will be emailed to you). Then we will discuss management solutions (to prevent rehearsing of behaviour) as well as start on training. If I think an additional session is needed, we will discuss scheduling it. You will then be emailed a recap of what we discussed.
Only in specific cases with human-directed aggression. I find it beneficial to see dogs in person.
Yes! I service Saskatoon and anywhere within an hour North.
Positive dog training:
- takes into account how dogs learn best
- is more effective, safe, and humane than other methods
- intrinsically motivates dogs to work (because they enjoy it!)
- establishes mutual trust, strengthening your bond
- encourages dogs to use their amazing brains to problem solve
- does not cause pain or fear
- positive training is great for all dogs, all breeds, and all ages.
I will not hurt or scare your dog. I will not tell you that you have to “dominate them” or encourage using harmful tools such as e-collars or prong collars. Even if you book with someone else, please be aware that using these tools are harmful and have no place in modern dog training.
